Cross Bones (1996-2019) focused on performances of the poems, the play and the rituals held (annually, then monthly) at the site of the outcasts’ graveyard to reclaim it as sacred space. However, the work expanded into workshops, talks and ground-breaking walks interweaving history, legends, alternative culture and street theatre.

I’m delighted that they’ve inspired others to create their own unusual walks.Jennifer Cooper conducts ‘The Goose and Her Garden’ tours and, most recently, Bee Taylor has launched her audio-tour ‘Here Lay Your Hearts’. Bee interviewed me at length when researching the tour and her title is taken from ‘The Southwark Mysteries’. Her launch on 15th September included live performances.
