We’re in a bracing phase of the work at Crossbones to ensure the future of the Garden of Remembrance alongside the planned redevelopment of the adjoining site. Historic England’s recent interest in the site, which led to the spate of good news stories all over yesterday’s media, is a welcome affirmation of the cultural and spiritual importance of the old burial ground with its memorial to sex workers.
