If you’re in London on Sunday 27th July, you may like to come to Crossbones to honour the Outcast Dead. For the tenth successive year, the Southwark Cathedral clergy will conduct the ‘Act of Regret, Remembrance, Restoration’ on the graveyard itself. This blessing is traditionally conducted on 22nd July, the Feast Day of St Mary Magdalene (or, as in this case, the nearest Sunday thereto). The Act was created by the previous Dean of Southwark, the Very Revd. Andrew Nunn, as the church’s response to our work there since 1996. This year the current Dean is unavailable, so the Revd. Kathryn Fleming is doing the honours. The Blessings will be followed by our Bardic Offerings, inaugurated by John Constable aka Crow in 2016. George Nigel Hoyle will MC – and there are rumours that this old Crow plans to offer something from The Southwark Mysteries.
